Thomas G. Donlan

Tom Donlan is Editorial Page Editor of Barron’s National Business and Financial Weekly and writes a column on business, finance and government.

He is the author of three books, which include:
 -- A World of Wealth: How Capitalism Turns Profit Into Progress, published June 2008 by FT Press;
-- Don’t Count On It: Why Your Pension May Be In Jeopardy And How To Protect Yourself,  published 1994 by Simon & Schuster;

Mr. Donlan joined Barron’s in 1979 as an associate editor in New York. He was Washington Editor from 1981 to 1991, and became Editor of the Editorial Page in 1992. He previously worked for the Associated Press and for The Record of Hackensack, N.J.

He is a 1967 graduate of Hamilton College, earned a master’s degree in English literature from Indiana University in 1968 and attended Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs on a fellowship for journalists in 1978-79.

Peter Grandich is the author of the internationally-followed market and economic blog, The Grandich Letter at www.Grandich.com.

He has made a 25-year career out of his knack for accurate market predictions. Labeled the “Wall Street Whiz Kid” by Good Morning America, Grandich forecasted both the 1987 stock market crash and the market's subsequent all-time high within two years. John Kaiser is an independent analyst who has covered the junior resource sector since 1983. After a decade working as a research director in Vancouver he left the brokerage industry in 1994 to launch the Kaiser Research Online and created the "rational speculation model" as a tool to evaluate the speculative value of exploration plays. Kaiser Research Online publishes his recommendations, provides information on over 1500 Canadian listed junior mining and exploration companies, and tracks trends within the junior sector and their relationship to macro trends.

John Kaiser is also one of the few independent analysts with an in-depth knowledge of the diamond exploration and rare earth sectors. He is a frequent speaker at conferences and private venues in North America and Europe, and contributes to a range of online and print publications.

 


Robin Kozar

RBC Capital Markets

Robin is an Equity Research Mining Analyst with RBC Capital Markets, working in the Toronto office.  He is principally focused on the bulk commodity sector in Canada. 

He joined RBC Capital Markets in 2004, working in base metal research.  Prior to joining the mining research platform at RBC, he held a position with Barrick Gold.

Robin has a MBA from the Schulich School of Business.

Before joining Haywood as a Mining Analyst, Geordie had more than a decade's involvement in exploration, mining and research in geosciences, Geordie is principally focused on the uranium sector as well as other specialty systems (IOCG deposits).  Immediately prior to taking a VP Exploration role in Canada, he was a Lecturer in Economic Geology and Logan Fellow in Australia, and was involved in concurrent consulting and industry research initiatives across 3 continents. 

Geordie holds a PhD in Science from James Cook University.

Jay Taylor is editor of J. Taylor's Gold, Energy & Tech Stocks newsletter which researches mining and technology stocks and hosts the weekly radio show, "Turning Hard Times Into Good Times".

He previously worked as a commercial banker with Barclays Bank International and then as an investment banker with the mining and metals group of ING Barings in NY and was involved in the first gold loan made in modern times in the U.S. to Amax Minerals, a 250,000 oz. loan facility led by Citicorp.  His interest in the role gold has played in U.S. monetary history led him to research gold and into analyzing and investing in junior gold shares.

His continuing interest in gold mining prompted him to study geology at Hunter College in New York City, supplementing his MBA in Finance & Investments.
